TechNexts publishes practical guides to consumer technology, account security, digital learning and online services. This page explains how the guides are prepared and helps you find a starting point. Our articles use published documentation and clearly labeled examples; a guide is not a hands-on product review unless it explicitly describes the equipment, procedure and results.
Find a guide for the task in front of you
- Protect an account: start with our passkey migration checklist and personal security routine.
- Fix a home connection: use the router and mesh diagnostic guide before buying hardware, then review the router security audit.
- Keep files recoverable: the NAS and cloud storage decision guide starts with recovery needs.
- Plan a lesson: try the Scratch clicker project, source-checking activity or accessibility checklist.
- Choose an accessory: compare requirements with our power-bank guide and smart-lighting guide.
How a guide is prepared
We define a concrete reader task, check material factual claims against primary sources, and distinguish source information from illustrative examples and editorial recommendations. Sources are linked in the article so readers can check the original instructions and their date. A worked example uses stated assumptions; its numbers are not measurements from a product test.
AI tools may assist research, drafting and illustrations. AI output is not evidence. Product performance, personal experience and testing results must not be invented. Synthetic illustrations do not establish that the depicted device or setup was tested.
Limits and corrections
Interfaces, supported devices and provider terms can change. Use the manufacturer or service documentation for your exact model, account and country. We identify important limitations in each guide. For a material correction, the article records the change and date. Readers can report a broken link or a disputed claim through the Contact page; please include the article URL, the passage and any supporting source.
Editorial independence
Advertising does not buy a favorable conclusion. Any paid placement or material affiliate relationship must be identified where it appears. Publication of a guide does not imply endorsement by a manufacturer, school, regulator or advertising network.
Read the Editorial Policy for our standards and the About page for the scope of TechNexts.
Updated October 5, 2026: this page now describes the site’s practical-guide focus and replaces the earlier description of a breaking-news newsroom.
